TWELFTH HOUSE PLUTO

The House of Drawn Shades - The field of unseen causes

Karmic liabilities. Behind-the-scenes maneuverings. Sacrificial service. Repressions, neuroses, and psychogenic complaints. Deception, secrets, and treachery. Hidden enemies. Prisons, asylums, and hospitals. Occultism.

A strongly aspected twelfth-house Pluto can be a purging influence engendering spasmodic upheavals for the sake of ultimate purification.

There can be a hidden preoccupation with the mysteries of sex and death and one may at times feel compelled to withdraw to some inaccessible retreat where they can seek to fathom the abyss of their psyche.

They are likely to have some connection with social outcasts or subversive elements. At worst, the individual is cunningly coercive while, at best, their desire to raise and redeem the repressed members of society makes them a champion of the down-trodden masses.

Their life may be dominated by karmic influences over which they have very little apparent control.

When Pluto is placed in the twelfth house it will have a powerful effect on the unconscious. There will be a considerable tendency to be secretive and sometimes even reclusive.

It can also be very difficult for the individual to talk freely about their problems, which may be rooted in an inability to express the characteristically powerful emotions easily and positively. An air of mystery will surround the subject, and if they are at all canny they will use it to great advantage.

Nevertheless, this placing is a difficult one, especially if Pluto receives negative aspects from the Sun or Moon, or is in conjunction with the Ascendant from this house. To delve and analyze will be second nature to the subject, so that the investigatory powers will be heightened in much the same way as they are when Pluto occupies the eighth house.

Unfortunately, this placing will give a more powerful tendency to turn these inclinations on the self. Sometimes, if there is a problem, it can be all too easy for the subject to mull it over so often that it becomes a kind of mazelike vicious circle in their mind, from which it is hard to escape.

They must also be warned against falling into the habit of taking any sort of drugs when under stress, since tranquilizers may be deemed attractive.
