The Sun in the third house implies that the ladder of success may be ascended through continuing education and mental development. A zest for study and travel can develop into a career in teaching, publishing, writing, and enterprises involving the dissemination of information.

This individual knows how to adjust to their environment and have a faculty for saying the right thing at the right time. They get on well with their neighbors and near relations, and connections with them prove useful in a variety of large and small ways. Letter writing is often a forte since one enjoys communicating ideas to congenial people. An active mind is capable of clear and logical thinking on almost any subject.

The intellectual capacity is exploited to the full with this placing. Whether the subject is bright or slow, there will certainly be a powerful urge to make the mind work, and should the individual feel there was something lacking in their early education, the impulse to make up for it will be strong.

Having achieved that, they might well go much further, eventually (perhaps rather late in life) gaining some striking academic achievements. Such a development is encouraged and any tendency to rest on lesser laurels discouraged. In such a case, a positive expression of pride and fulfillment will spring from this solar placing.
