one may suspect that they have been "sat on" by Saturn, for the
shadow of this heavy planet falls darkly on the house of pleasures and love
affairs. The result is personal austerity and the enforcement of rigid
controls in expressing romantic sentiments. If discipline is not exercised,
affairs of the heart bring more pain than pleasure.
This
person wants to be in a position of recognized authority but may not be
sufficiently popular to command the attention they expect. It may be difficult
to relax easily and they can feel that even their recreations should serve a
practical purpose.
Since
this is the Leo/Sun house it has a bearing on the father, and when Saturn
occupies it, the chances are that he was very domineering and dogmatic, making
the subject feel inhibited.
Rather
differently, when the subject becomes a parent he or she will be very
ambitious for the children, spending much time and money on what is considered
best for them. Sometimes there is a tendency to push them into areas into
which they do not want to go, and for which they have no real talent, simply
because the parent sees the child as a clone of themselves.
Creative
talent is often present, though it may be slow to develop. The subject might
not be sure what to do, but the urge to make and create may be strong.
The
attitude to love affairs is deadly serious. Despite a powerful need for them,
the desire to do the right thing will probably act as a sobering force, so
that the subject will experience few relationships before making a total
commitment to a partner.
In
a round-about way, the father's influence may make its presence felt here,
